THE APPRENTICESHIP ROLE

Mechanics or production mechanics help with the construction of machines and are also involved in metal forming.

They machine high-precision parts on a one-off basis or in large runs (screws, nuts, axles, shafts, etc.) and put together all sorts of mechanical elements and equipment, while also ensuring manufacturing and production installations are properly maintained. The precise nature of their work depends on the size of the business where they work and what it specializes in.

At AFFOLTER, mechanics or production mechanics specialize in the following fields from their second year:

  • Profile turning

  • Gear hobbing

  • Burnishing

  • Assembly

Based on 3 and a half days within
the business and 1 and a half days
in school.
